Customize logo, different size
Whenever we download and install a template and we want to customize it, one of the first things to change is the logo. Some templates (such as Panacea) allow you to modify the logo through a graphical interface, usually located in the template maganer. That’s the easy way. Unfortunatly, some templates let you change the logo only by working with the internal part of the website. For these templates, there are two ways of changing the logo:
- Go to your site via ftp and replace the current logo with your new one, but make sure that the new one has exactly the same name and extension as the original one. Usually, you can locate the logo here:
templates/the_template_you_are_using/images/logo/style x
- Upload the new logo somewhere in your site and then find the code that links to it and change it. For that, go to the template manager, to the template you are using and click the Edit css button. Edit the style you are using. The line that inserts the logo looks like this:
/* Logo */
#rt-logo {background: url(../images/logo/style5/logo.png) 0 0 no-repeat;}
Modify the path to your desired logo and that’s it.
A problem that occur though, in both cases is, what happens if your logo has different size than the default one. Well, some of the templates handle it nicely, but most of them don’t. Therefor, if that is the case, in your template maganer, find the logo parameter and set the auto size to off. Then, in the template.css file, find the following lines:
/* Logo */
#rt-logo { width: 112px;height: 112px;}
set the size of your current logo and save.
That’s it!
